This is where I've been spending my evenings. I've been sitting on a park bench drenched in the late golden hours of the sun. I have been dipping my bare feet in the cool, gritty sand reading the second in a series of good books. In the forefront the hooligans use up every single second of the lasting light to run, and sweat, and soak up the cool summer air. I can't help but pause to take a glance at them every now and then as they explore every inch of this environment. I think sometimes they forget that I'm there and my invisibility allows me to witness their sweet interaction, and I can't help but smile. I re-enter the adventure in my novel and time passes by until I feel a tug on my arm and I know it's time to go. We return home just as the sun begins catching fire and it's final flames light our pathway to home. It has become our new relaxing routine, and it's good enough that it bears repeating. It's becoming one of my favorite summer memories.
