Kickball

Last week we took an evening and hogged the time all to ourselves. It's been a while since we've done that. It's been a while since we've done that without an agenda anyway. It was warm outside and the light was so pretty and we took our little family to the park to play in it. We took our kickball to the park and played in the grass as the cotton floated in the air around us. We kicked it to each other and we kicked it high in the air and we laughed, and after a while we separated in the park and did our own thing. Lou and Doop made their way to the swings and the merry-go-round where they giggled loudly like they always do. I of course grabbed my camera because the light was too beautiful to resist, and Seej and JM continued to play ball. Watching their interaction made me smile. I used to do the same thing with my dad when I was young. When I started playing volleyball and basketball for real, my dad would stay outside for hours with me practicing. He would chase the ball as many times as I would shoot it or hit it and he never complained. When I wanted to stop because I wasn't doing well, he wouldn't let me quit. He pushed me to keep going and he not only helped me become a better athlete, but he developed a relationship with me while doing it. I won't ever forget all the time he spent with me. JM is doing the same thing with Seej. From soccer to pitching the softball he is helping her get better and he is developing a relationship with her. There just isn't a relationship that compares much to a dad and a daughter in my book. Well, other than a mother and her little man. :)

Oh how fun - I love the perspective. I feel like I'm a quiet observer.

I love your perspective as well. You seem like a really good Mom enjoying the simple, good things.

I feel like I should throw in a "depth of field" comment!!

Love it.

I love this kind of "low to the ground" perspective. :-) Especially in the grass where all the blades glow a lovely shade of green.
