In the Distance

It's been a really long time since I have joined in on the fun at I Heart Faces. Their theme for this week is "In the Distance". The description of the theme stated that the person in the photo needed to either be in the distance, or walking away. I tend to be more of an up close shooter, but the second part of the theme was what caught my eye. This image came back to my mind as a favorite of my three hooligans walking away. I think this is one of the pictures that will remain on my desk for a very long time. So much has changed since I took this picture and at the same time so much has remained the same. They are still taking care of one another just the way they are here. Although their bodies have grown in size, so has their need to stick together. Sure they fight now and then. They are of course human, but when the going gets tough this is how they are with one another. Hand in hand ready to face things together. I hope this bond only gets stronger with time. They are going to need each other throughout their lives. This will forever be one of my favorite "walking away" images. To see more photos click on the link below.

Sunday Shoes

The theme at I Heart Faces this week is "Anything but a Face". I took this image of my daughter's Sunday shoes a couple of weeks ago, and thought it would fit the bill for this week. Check out more entries by clicking the link below.

Hearts

The theme at I Heart Faces this week is Hearts. How appropriate. We are gearing up for the annual Valentine's tradition here at our house as well. Seej was the perfect model once again for this week's theme. I heart her so much. :) To see more hearts and faces click on the link below.

Innocent Wonder

The theme at I Heart Faces this week is Innocent Wonder. This is an image of my girl Seej sitting on the porch watching the rain fall from the sky. I chose this image due to the innocence in her eyes. I wish I could bottle it up and keep it there forever. For her and my other two children. To see more innocent wonder click on the link below.

Smiles

The challenge at I Heart Faces this week is "Smiles". This image brings back happy memories of making cookies with my little boy. It's a perfect way to start out my week, and definitely one of my very favorite smiles. The dimples get me every time. To see more happy faces click on the link below.

Best Face Photo 2010

It's a new year at I Heart Faces, and they are starting it off with their very first challenge. The task is to review your photography for the year 2010 and choose your very best face photo. I had several favorites, but when it came right down to it I had to pick this one. It has all three of my favorite faces in the same image! We were messing around during our break when I caught this one, and I love it. It reminds me of fun days spent with my hooligans, and I love each of their expressions in this photo. If you want to see more great entries head over to I Heart Faces by clicking the link below.

Scenic Black & White

The theme at I Heart Faces this week is Scenic Black & White. This week the photo should focus more on the background than the face, although a face must be included even if it isn't clearly showing. This image is another one of Seej that we took while in the mountains during the snowy winter cold months. I'm not sure how scenic the background is. In fact it's a bit of a mystery, but it's one of the reasons that I chose this photo. Everything is drawn toward the background. For more black and white scenic images click on the link below.

Paper

The theme at I Heart Faces this week is "Paper". My girl Lou was a perfect subject for this one. She is an amazing little artist. I love watching her when a stack of paper, a brush and paint is placed before her. It is magical. Beautiful images flow out of her hand as fast as she can get the brush wet, and when her picture is complete she begins a new one with the next available sheet of paper. It is amazing, and I always love the things she creates. I love to see the beauty that swirls around inside her head, and I love that painting is an avenue for her to let it all out.

Silhouette

The theme at I Heart Faces this week is Silhouettes. The first photo that came to my mind was one from a while back of Seej. Every Thursday night is horse riding night at our house, and we took this one right before we were heading out. I like it because of the beautiful light, and lovely silhouette, but the best thing about this image is that it triggers a wonderful memory for me. There are more amazing silhouette photos at I Heart Faces. Click the link below to check them out!

Orange

The theme at I Heart Faces this week is "Orange". This is an image of Seej in lots of color with just a splash of orange. We took this one downtown, and as usual we had so much fun doing it. If you love the color orange, head over to I Heart Faces to see more of it's beauty.

Pink Week

It's Pink Week at I Heart Faces in honor of Breast Cancer Awareness Month. This week the challenge required a face, and the color pink. Seej has one of the most beautiful faces I've seen, and she happens to love the color pink. So in honor of Breast Cancer Awareness Month, Seej and I are both thinking of our friends and family who have suffered from this disease and praying for a cure. In The Orchard

The theme at I Heart Faces this week is "In The Orchard". For this challenge I am reminiscing. I am thinking back to The Apple Tree Journey I took with my boy, and how much fun we had together. I am remembering the strong old apple tree that has been proudly standing near my parents home since I was my little boy's age, and I am remembering my own journeys there with my dad. I am remembering how much happiness this apple tree has brought to my family, and I am remembering how much we smiled on this fall day. I am remembering that I have grown so much since this picture was taken, and so has my boy. We have done it together. This may just be one apple tree, but to us it has been as plentiful as an orchard.

I Heart Beef

The theme at I Heart Faces this week is "I Heart Beef". We don't get too fancy around here when it comes to dinner, although I have been expanding my cooking skills recently. I think my family is a little worried :). When it comes to dinner I have one very picky daughter, and when it comes to beef she isn't much of a fan at all. However, this dish is something that she requests often. Again, nothing fancy. Just cube steak, ranch potatoes, mixed vegetables, and biscuits. It's one of her favorites, and because she loves it I thought it would work perfect for this challenge. Head over to I Heart Faces to see some other delicious beef dishes.

Chalk

The theme at I Heart Faces this week is chalk. My girl Lou is quite an artist. I snapped this shot of her just last week when she was creating the entire cast of SpongeBob Squarepants on the driveway. Catching her in action gave her the giggles and her giggles are contagious. For me it's the best part of the image. Head over to I Heart Faces and check out the other entries.

Smirk

The theme at I Heart Faces this week is "Smirk". This is an image of my nephew, and he is quite a little character. This is definitely one of the cutest smirks I've photographed. Head over to I Heart Faces and check out the other entries by clicking the link below.

Vroom Vroom

The theme this week at I Heart Faces is "Vroom Vroom". The only requirements were to have a face clearly showing in the photo (of course!) and a car. I know this photo isn't glamorous, but it sure is fun. This is from the car show that we went to back in July. Seej and I had a bit of fun with the distortion we saw in the bumper of one of the cars and I couldn't resist snapping a few images. I thought this would be a fun twist on the theme. Beach Fun

The theme at I Heart Faces this week is "Beach Fun". There aren't many beaches around where we live but we do have a beautiful lake not far away. It is always a pretty shade of blue, but depending on the day and the weather the blue will be a different tone. Last month we visited this beautiful place to let the kids play. This is my Lou. One of her favorite past times at the beach is looking for seashells and making sculptures in the sand. I couldn't resist snapping a picture of her doing what she loves most. She just looks like she fits in this place. To check out other entries click the link below.

Purple

The theme at I Heart Faces this week is purple. I had many ideas for this theme, but just not enough time to pull them off. So, this is an image from the I Heart Faces Photowalk that I participated in. To check out other entries click on the link below. If you love the color purple, you will love to peruse the catalog of photos available at I Heart Faces this week!

Over My Head

The theme at I Heart Faces this week is "Over My Head". Seej and I had a bit of fun with this one. We decided to do a movie star look with the scarf over her head and the sunglasses. She added the ring for kicks. I like how it turned out, and although the scarf was over her head the things I did to make her laugh in this one definitely weren't! Seej is often times very serious in her pictures so it's fun to see this side of her. To check out more entries, click on the link below.
