What Good Days Are Made Of

Good days are made up of many things in my book. It starts with birds chirping in the morning as the sun rises for a new day. It includes waking up in crisp cool sheets and stretching before getting out of bed. It continues with the waking of the hooligans and their early morning whispers of what adventures the day has in store for them. It involves laughter with friends, and bumping into those I haven't seen in ages and being greeted with a warm smile. My favorite part of a good day is when it's time to go home from work. Rolling the windows down and letting the wind whip through my hair is especially relaxing after a long day spent inside. Neighborhood kids riding scooters and playing tag greet me with their laughter as I reach the road for home and then the best part of the good day really begins. A make shift dinner with the family just in time to spend the rest of the evening in the last sparkling drops of the sun. On occasion this includes bare toes in the grass and little hands grasping fruit loops. Though the moments fade fast, they make the day good. These are the things I think about as the crickets harmoniously wrap their song into my ears when I climb back into the sheets that have patiently been awaiting my return. This is definitely what good days are made of.
