Oh Christmas Tree

One of my favorite things at Christmas time is watching the kids decorate the tree.  JM takes special care to make sure that the lights are just right and then one by one they take turns placing their own special ornaments on the tree.  Some are homemade and others are gifts received in their stocking each year, but I love to watch them remember Christmas' past as they handle each one with care and find them a home on the tree.  Their excitement is contagious, and it is fun to see which one will be pulled from the box next.  I love their homemade ornaments the most.  They have a pureness about them, and they are unique to the creativity that each one of them possess.  It is like a little package of who they are that always ends up complimenting the tree and it's beauty.  Doop made his very first one this year in nursery and he was so pleased to hang it on the tree.  Lou was able to look back in time at her pre-school days when a very special teacher who loved her so much helped her to make her first ornaments, and with the assistance of two special women from Activity Days, Seej made a set of special ornaments this year to help remind us what this season is all about.  I love that these ornaments have meaning, and that we are so blessed to have such good people in our lives to help create these memories that will last a lifetime.  It is hard to do other things and not stay at home this whole month when the house is this cozy and filled with the true spirit of Christmas.
