Punkins

My kids have been asking me for the past three weeks now, "When are we going to put our Halloween decorations up?"  Inside my head I'm thinking probably next year, but I know this answer won't go over too well with them.  Needless to say our decorations still are not up.  I know, I know, stop with the hissing and booing already and cut me some slack!  Anyway, to make up for my lack of Halloween spirit we took the kids to a pumpkin patch last Saturday to let them pick out pumpkins for carving.  Doop thought he found the grand prize pumpkin right off the bat as soon as he saw this little pumpkin.  This lasted until he saw the much larger pumpkins waiting in the actual patch. Funny boy!

It was actually a pretty cool place where the kids got to cut their own pumpkins off the vine.

You picked it, you carry it!

Look at Doop's face.  Even this did not give him enough strength to cut through the stem on his own.

Doop's favorite pumpkin was not found in the patch, but instead given to him by a good friend that saw this pumpkin and immediately thought of Doop.  Can you guess why?

Check out the buttcrack on this thing!  Did you really think disgusting little Doop would miss it?  No way!

To continue trying to make up for my lack of Halloween spirit the kids and JM carved their pumpkins together last night following hot soup and a special drink in the Halloween cups.  See, I'm not a total fun sucker!

I couldn't resist taking this picture.  He just looked so cute from this angle.

Lou was definitely the best at pulling the guts out of the pumpkins.

Don't let this display of affection fool you.  His loyalty lies with the buttcrack pumpkin for sure!

Here is the final result all lit up, and who knows I actually have a couple more days to get those decorations up.  You never know, it could happen!
