I love this place. I love it for many reasons, but among them is the magic that dances around it. I used to play in this same place when I was their age. I used to explore the same way that I watched them doing last week. I used to enter the same world of make believe, and I used to love it just like they do now. I'm glad that they have this place. I'm glad that they can feel freedom here. It makes me happy to see them experiencing the same things that I did when I was their age because this is a place where their imagination can stretch as far as they want it to, and that's not something that all kids get the luxury to experience these days. It's why I love this place so much. My home.

I love watching my kids explore. I can't imagine having them be in the same place I was in as a kid; that is rare and wonderful indeed! But I think kids bloom wherever they are planted, and (even if it's on our crummy Navy base housing) I, too, am grateful my kids can explore their world with creativity, imagination, magic, and without inhibition.
It's so wonderful to share your home as a child with your own kids. My parents still live in the house I grew-up in (as do my husband's parents.) I love to watch Max explore the places I explored as a child. Play in my old room, my brother's old room, our backyard. Such a rarity these days.
