Sadly enough our summer is winding down. Slowly but surely it is coming to an end. Although Fall is my very favorite season, I don't think I'm ready for it this year. The summer was just getting good for us. Two of my hooligans just refuse to let summer go though. Lou is the ringleader in this movement. I swear if she could hold a sign and join a picket group over it she would. She is determined to soak up every last drop of warmth that the sunshine has to offer, and she is doing it in her regular headstrong Lou style. She is still swimming every day. Last weekend when the storm decided to hang out right above our heads she just dove to the bottom. She came up for air every now and then and told us she would just wait it out at the bottom of the pool. It's probably the same place we'll find her when the time comes around to drain it. She is a summer girl through and through. She is in her element when she can run barefoot through the grass and eat fresh vegetables right out of the garden. Most days I can find her chasing butterflies in the last shadows of the sun. It's just one of the many reasons I love her so much. She has value for the season and she finds ways to squeeze every bit of enjoyment out of her short summer days.

And if I can find Lou chasing butterflies in the late evening sun, you know I will find Doop running right behind her. He is her first assistant in everything she does, which means that he was willing to wait the storm out at the bottom of the pool too. He just can't hold his breath as long. :) Man I love these two!

I hate to see summer go, but I can't wait for fall to arrive. Love these shots.
