My girl Lou was baptized earlier this month. This was a special day, and because it was we wanted to document it appropriately. When Seej was baptized we spent a whole afternoon taking pictures of her in her beautiful dress with JM by her side. I wanted her to have some special pictures of her and her dad together. Lou has been admiring Seej's pictures for several years, and now her baptism was approaching, she was ready for pictures too. I was worried that Lou wouldn't want to do this since she is always so reluctant to have her picture taken, but she wanted to create some special memories of her own and was completely willing to have her own time in front of the camera. It was windy and cold, and I feared that this too would keep her from wanting to participate, but to my surprise she was eager to get in her beautiful dress and begin. For Lou's pictures we used the Salt Lake Temple grounds. It's always so beautiful there, and the atmosphere added to her beauty in her little white dress. My heart was swollen as I watched her hold her dad's hand and walk around the temple. They laughed and they talked and I did my best to capture their relationship. We didn't spend a whole lot of time shooting. Maybe a half an hour tops, but for Lou this was a long time and I appreciated her willingness to participate. I think that as much as she's glad she did it now, she will be much more grateful for these images when she's older. Someday she will be walking with her dad in a beautiful white dress around the temple grounds again. She will be older and even more gorgeous than she is now, and she will be accompanied by another man in her life as she enters the temple to be married. I know on that day my heart will be swollen again. I have many years to spend with her until then, and many more special memories to make just like this one on her baptism day. I am proud of her and her decision. I love who she is becoming. These images are for her and JM. I hope they cherish them.
